HICKORY AND PECAN

Botanical name: Carya spp. Hickories are an important segment of the hardwood forests of the Eastern United States. Of the seven species, five are true hickories and two are pecan hickories. The wood of the true hickories is very heavy, hard, strong and stiff. It is high resistance to shock and a large shrinkage factor.
