Nome botanico: Taxodium distichum. Cypress is one of the most variable woods grown in the United States in terms of colour, weight and durability. The sapwood is pale yellow white with the heartwood varying in colour from light to dark of reddish brown. The oils in Cypress make it one of the most durable woods when exposed to moisture condition causing decay.
