Botanical name: Platanus occidentalis. Colour varies from nearly white to pale reddish brown. Sycamore, with its close-textured and interlocking grin, is classed as moderate in heaviness, hardness, strength, stiffness and shock resistance. It turns well on the lathe and has good bending qualities.
